bio

An aspiring musician, composer, and teacher, Jeff Richardi is a young saxophonist with a variety of experience to date. This includes two performances at the Montreal Jazz Festival, as well as a summer with the 2010 Disneyland All-American College Band. He is also a faculty member of the Foxboro Summer Jazz Improvisation Camp in Massachusetts, and has many years of experience teaching private lessons.Jeff graduated Purchase College with his Master's Degree in Jazz Performance where he studied saxophone with Eric Alexander and Ralph Lalama, and composition with John Abercrombie and Andy LaVerne. Previously, he attented McGill University in Montreal, Quebec where he was awarded the Schulich Scholar Award in 2006 for academic and musical achievement, and graduated with an Outstanding Achievement in Jazz Saxophone distinction. Jeff was a member of the Nova Quartet, a band that won 2nd place in the 2007 Jazz en Raffale young artist competition of Quebec.Jeff currently lives in Brooklyn, NY where he plans to maintain an active schedule of performing, recording, and teaching.
